Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen 7040 Series) Notes

Things that work or do not work with the Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen 7040 Series), mostly under Linux:
✅ Crucial 96GB Kit (48GBx2) DDR5-5600 SODIMM (CT2K48G56C46S5) (2024-10-08) works.
✅ Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock (40B00300EU) (2024-10-08) Except the power button all seems to work under Linux.
✅ Anker 715 Charger (Nano II 65W, Model: A2663) (2024-10-10) works.
🛑 iPhone 15 (2024-10-10) won't connect or charge when using an USB-C to USB-C cable.
The iPhone keeps reconnecting in an endless loop. USB-A to USB-C cable works. See also Framework Community - USB C is not compatible with iPhone 15 / Pro / Pro Max.
🛑 Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock (40AC0135EU) (2024-10-10) Works most of time, but sometimes doesn't connect and needs to be replugged.
🛑 HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 Dock HSTNN-CX01 (1DT93AA) (2024-10-17)
Works most of time, but sometimes the ethernet card can't reach full speed and ksoftirqd is causing high CPU usage. Sleep is unreliable and from time to time USB ports don't work after waking up from sleep.
✅ Dual Port 10G SFP+ USB4 Ethernet Network Thunderbolt 5/4/3 Compatible Intel 82599ES Chip 2 Port 10GBASE-T Fiber Optic NIC (2025-12-01) works both directly connected and via the Thunderbolt port of a dock.
✅ UGREEN Revodok Pro 106 4K@60Hz 10Gbps USB-C Hub (Model CM818 / 45363) (2026-02-27) works.
✅ Arzopa Z3FC Portable Monitor 2.5K 180Hz (2026-03-02) works fine via USB-C. For higher brightness settings the monitor needs to be powered via USB-C. The monitor charges the laptop when being connected via USB-C.
Problems:
⚠️ Framework Laptop 13 Battery - 61Wh (FRANGWAT01) (2026-02-15) is swelling after 1.5 year of usage. Battery is so swollen that touchpad is hard to click. Replaced under the 2 year warrenty period.
